The FAMOUS FIVE are Julian, Dick, George (Georgina by rights), Anne, and Timmy the dog. A scarlet fever quarantine at Kirrin Cottage makes it necessary for the Five to spend their Easter Holiday at Big Hollow, the home of the forgetful Professor Hayling and his son Tinker not to mention Tinker’s little monkey, Mischief.

A Travelling Circus provides plenty of entertainment, and in addition the setting for a first-class adventure-mystery!
